The IBM 4800 SurePOS 740 Model C42 is the controller model of the next generation of SurePOS 700. The C42 is optimized to be used as a controller in the IBM 4690 OS environment. This model can also be implemented as a controller running Windows, Linux, or DOS.
The C42 provides the processing power and flexibility for full-function back office applications. It provides the following functions:
- Intel Celeron D 326 (2.5 GHz) processor (P4 socket):
- 533 MHz Front Side Bus
- 104-key preferred pro full-size keyboard (PS/2) (Not included in EMEA)
- 512 Megabytes of DDR II memory standard
- One internal 40GB or higher 3.5″ Hard Disk Drive
- Internal 24x CD ROM drive
- SVGA video
- Shared Video Memory 64MB maximum
- One VGA video port
- 128KB NVRAM
- Autosensing 10/100 ethernet with Wake on LAN (WOL)
- One Ethernet cable for connecting to LAN
- A Remote Program Load subsystem that supports the PXe protocol
- A network management enabled BIOS that supports APM/ACPI, WfM, and SMBIOS 2.3
- Audio subsystem:
- Mic in, Line out (back)
- headphone ports (back and front)
- Four standard PC USB 2.0 ports (2 back, 2 front), 1x 12V USB (front)
- Four standard RS-232 ports
- Parallel port
- PS/2 keyboard port, PC mouse port
- Two half-length PCI feature card slots
