Lexmark designs its toner cartridge boxes to be used twice. Once when the cartridge is shipped new, then again when the used cartridge is returned to Lexmark for recycling.
In addition, Lexmark has a goal to increase printer collection and recycling by 30% by 2014 (compared to the baseline of 2007). One program that Lexmark has available to Retail Tech customers is the Trade In, Trade Up program. Customers have the opportunity to receive a rebate and have a competitor’s desktop printer recycled when they purchase a printer from Retail Tech and follow the Trade In, Trade Up instructions at http://lexmark.tradeups.com.
