The IBM 4800 Model 142 SurePOS 730 is a Wide machine. The wide footprint SurePOS 730 is suited to the customer who wants to integrate the POS I/O on the system unit. It is optimized for the thin client operating environment like that provided by 4690 OS; however, Windows 2000 Professional Edition and Windows 98 2nd Edition can also be utilized if you add a hard drive and additional memory. It provides the following functions:
- A 64 bit architecture terminal with a AMD K6-2, 400MHz processor
- 32 Megabytes of memory standard
- SVGA video with 4 Megabyte of video memory from the system memory
- One Digital Visual Interface (DVI-I) video port
- 128KB NVRAM
- Autosensing 10/100 Ethernet with Wake on LAN (WOL)
- One Ethernet cable for connecting to LAN
- A RPL (Remote Program Load) subsystem that supports DHCP/PXE, TCP/IP bootp and IBM RPL protocols
- A network management enabled BIOS that supports APM/ACPI, WfM 1.1, and DMI 2.3
- Six standard powered USB I/O ports for Point-of-Sale I/O
- Five standard USB ports with +12VDC and color coded, keyed, positive latching connectors
- One standard USB port with +24VDC and color coded, keyed, positive latching connectors
- Two cash drawer ports (+24VDC)
- Two RS-232 ports PS/2 keyboard port
- Parallel port
- One half-length PCI feature card slot
- Two 3.5″ bays
- Front access Dump Switch
- The choice of a specified lock or a blank plug is required at order entry time. (Blank plug specify code is #9200. Standard lock specify codes are #9202 through #9211).
Additional Options
- Capability to expand to 256 Megabytes of memory with two 168 pin, SDRAM PC-100 compatible DIMM memory sockets that can contain any combination of 32, 64 or 128MB DIMMs
